Staff intranets improve engagement and transparency – but they need to be easy to use and useful. We upgraded and enhanced the Devon Partnership NHS Trust’s bespoke staff intranet to make it an integral part of the Trust’s internal communications.
The Devon Partnership NHS Trust’s intranet Daisy, is accessed by over 2,200 staff across various departments and locations. The Trust employs staff across a range of professions including doctors, psychologists, directors and support staff. The Trust was seeking an Umbraco supplier to take over development and maintenance of the bespoke system. Additional functionality beyond their technical capability was needed as well as the security of having support available at the end of the phone.
With 100 administrators and a handful of ‘super-users’ the system needed to be simple and intuitive to use. The Trust appointed bespoke software and Umbraco expert Software Solved. After a thorough system health check, we successfully upgraded Daisy to the latest version of Umbraco to enhance functionality and user experience as well as tailor-making an ad hoc support agreement for future development and maintenance.
The system now promotes healthy discussions and interaction with senior Executives, empowering staff to feedback. The back-end CMS is straightforward with each administrator managing their particular area within the privileges set by the communications team. And the ad hoc support arrangement with us means that the risk of anything going wrong is low with any problems resolved quickly.
