We are looking for an exceptional Project Manager to join our successful organisation.  Software Solved are a software house who resolve clients bespoke software needs through our software development and support services.

Key Skills:

You will have experience in Project Management and ideally project managing a team of Software Developer.  Working collaboratively in a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Client Service Managers you will deliver several concurrent projects to time, budget and quality standard. You will need to demonstrate successful project delivery ideally in a supplier/software house environment using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. We require you to be client facing, highly organised and a strong leader.  Ideally you will have Prince 2 or Agile qualifications or be working towards these qualifications.

The Role:

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering several concurrent projects to time, budget and quality standard.
  • Managing multiple projects across different sectors.
  • Identifying, quantifying and managing project issues and risks on an on-going basis.
  • Project reporting, both internally and externally, including progress reports and forecasts.
  • Key point of contact for clients – managing existing and new opportunities.

.NET / SQL (C# or VB) Developer

Exeter - paying up to £42k, can offer flexible home working, Training (Microsoft qualifications). Desirable knowledge: Azure & Xamarin

Expert knowledge: .NET development within a commercial environment (in either C# or VB) / SQL Server experience / Solid experience of ASP.NET MVC / Knowledge of RDBMS / JavaScript experience

We need an enthusiastic .NET Developer to join our dynamic and expanding software house. You will be working on bespoke software so will need to embrace our fast paced and varied environment.  You will be paired with an experienced mentor and be supported and encouraged to professionally develop.

As a .Net/SQL developer you will be working on a range of client projects, taking responsibility at all stages, from working with customers to design a solution through to hands on C# or VB .Net development and unit testing.

Test Analyst

We are currently looking to recruit a Test Analyst to join our expanding team as they embark on new and existing projects.  You will be responsible for conducting a full life cycle QA, testing new bespoke systems and a portfolio of systems we support.

Skills and Experience:

  • Commercial testing experience in XHTML, XML, JavaScript, C#, SQL and similar web technologies
  • MS Windows, MS Office, Internet Explorer and using simple SQL to interrogate databases.
  • Your testing expertise must cover windows and web based applications.
  • Prior experience working as part of an Agile and/or Waterfall software development team.
  • You should be a dynamic, clear and a flexible thinker with the ability to understand and communicate highly complex issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively and re-actively ensuring the agreed test activities are delivered as planned.
  • Working collaboratively with the development and support teams to define and clarify the requirements they have of the testing service.
  • Conducting tests; preparing test plans, test scripts and test data; performing system and regression testing, and assisting clients with user acceptance testing.
  • Recording, assigning and prioritising bugs through a central bug tracking system, tracing the issues back to the original requirements.
  • Reporting test results back to the QA / Test Manager to help manage quality across the company.
  • Developing and enhancing current test practices and approaches to introduce improved ways of working. Ensuring each improvement delivers rational development of the teams overall method.

In this position you will work with existing members of the team and for the right candidate there is the possibility of client facing work. You will also be offered mentoring and support during your placement to help you develop all of the skills you will need in the role.

Candidates must have a complete commitment to quality of service. Good organisational and communication skills along with a positive, proactive, can-do attitude. Those candidates demonstrating the ability to learn quickly and consistently deliver will be rewarded with additional responsibility and the opportunity to gain an awful lot of valuable experience.

In the role you can expect to:

  • Have responsibility for small support projects managing batches of work through the full IT project lifecycle; this would include managing internal resources and liaising directly with external clients.
  • Assist Project Managers on larger projects; this could include monitoring projects, writing reports and keeping project logs up to date.
  • Assist Business Analysts; this could include helping at client workshops and writing up requirements and specifications.

In this role you will work alongside existing members of the team, however there is the possibility of client facing work. There will also be the opportunity to work within different technical teams during your placement year.

We seek a technically adept individual with a willingness to learn.  Candidates must have a complete commitment to quality of service.  Good communication skills are essential with a flexible and common sense attitude.

  • Develop personas and user journeys as well as MVPs and POCs.

  • Present and explain complex concepts and latest design thinking to a variety of audiences.
  • Work with Account Managers to proactively seek and develop new opportunities for UI/UX design within the existing client base as well as driving key messages for marketing and new sales.
  • Assist Marketing with design and enhancement of the corporate website including assets such as page templates, banners, infographics, downloadable content and videos.

Desirable Knowledge:

  • An understanding of the difference between off-the-shelf products and bespoke software would be an advantage.
  • Ability to identify improvements to client system with the confidence to make recommendations and help implement change.
  • Experience of front-end programming would be desirable.
