Hot on the heels of securing an initial grant from Innovate UK in May 2020, we are thrilled to announce that SurveyorTech has won a further grant to extend the work being developed on our innovative surveying software.
In April 2020, the UK Government announced a ‘Fast Start Covid Grant’ for businesses that were able to develop innovative solutions that dealt directly with the implications of the threat of Covid 19.
SurveyorTech’s covid solution was an enhancement to the already existing SurveyorTech software and the addition of a remote surveying option.
Integrating live video streaming, image and data capture, and data analysis technologies, the remote surveying feature uniquely enables an unskilled person to conduct a property survey alongside a remotely-based professional using a smart phone. This software would be providing a much-needed lifeline to surveying and inspection industries such as Insurance, and facilities management by allowing users to operate their businesses despite the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
800 businesses were granted £50,000 and SurveyorTech’s successful application enabled the software to be launched to the market in October 2020.
In September 2020, Innovate UK announced further “Extension to Impact Grants” available only to those already successful applicants. “With the subsequent funding available to a minority of the initial successful businesses, we are especially pleased that SurveyorTech has shown its strength. The second tranche of funding will enable us to commercialise the product further, making it even more of the industry game-changer that we believe it to be” said Martin Lovell, Head of Product at Software Solved.
