The HR Team

How to keep your employee data together and up-to-date?

A Human Resources manager has many hats. They manage the recruitment and hiring, training, and employee relations, culture as well as benefits. There are so many aspects to the role that no day is ever the same.  But keeping on top of a team of 25 people is almost as tricky as a team of 250 if you don’t have the right technology to help.

Without any automated system in place, there is an immense amount of admin that relies on spreadsheets and documents and with that comes the challenges; its time consuming, inefficient and prone to problems with differing versions.

The Data Challenge:

Separate spreadsheets for employee data, inability to plan for staff changes, keeping track on employee performance

Challenges in this area typically derive from being able to see individual’s data as an individual and as part of a department:

Keeping all information on each employee in a separate spreadsheet is time consuming to update when there are changes in salary or job title, as well as keeping track of sick leave and benefits taken by individuals.

Managing the monthly and yearly budgets is tricky, with lots of spreadsheets and the worry of sending the wrong version over to the finance team– there is a lot of staff turnover within certain departments so budgets are constantly changing.

Planning for these staff changes is currently haphazard, a system that would give eyes on how long an individual had left in a role would make a huge difference to enable planning for replacements.

Performance review information is another challenge, currently kept by the individual’s manager and not shared. By integrating the metrics of the review, the HR Manager would gather an understanding of how the company can get the best from every employee and how aligned they are with the organization’s long-term vision and mission as well as their values.

The Solution:

All data in one dashboard with visualisation functionality, shows employee data, performance monitoring

By finding Elevate, all of the data needed is placed in a dashboard to view easily, data including turnover, sickness, time to hire/speed of hire, headcount, salaries, job role types/team sizes, demographics. Together with search functionality and the ability to slice data gives an immediate time saving benefit. The data can be viewed in different graphs to make it easier to understand.

Elevate shows employee data;  how many active employees there are in the company, what date they started and what pay band individuals are in. Data can be sliced by department, giving the ability to see how many work in the any department and the job titles for each as well as the overall spend on salaries for each department.

Employee performance can be easily monitored, viewing how much sick leave is taken and if there are particular days that are more common – as well as know what training each individual has taken or could take in their career path.

Performance review metrics are now integrated with the system, a clearer understanding of the team, how they are performing and how the company’s vision and values are received and being incorporated.
